Comic Transcripts

Our hero, Borgus, is now at work with his colleague, Linrod.
LINROD: Good weekend? See the game?
BORGUS: I discovered that GOBLINS come into my house, eat my food, dirty my dishes, fill up my trash, and wear my wife’s underwear
LINROD: Yeah, obviously. Lightning duds. SO?
BORGUS: WHAT?
LINROD: We ALL know about the little creatures that show up at night and do that stuff. And in return, they make your place unattractive to lightning strikes. You do an extra load of laundry, and your house doesn’t burn down. This is BASIC stuff, man. Did you sleep through all of eighth grade?
BORGUS: And…they’re called LIGHTNING DUDS?
LINROD: I mean, I don’t know their SCIENTIFIC name, but I KNOW they look hot in a negligée! Am I right? UP TOP!

I guess they just don't teach practical subjects in school anymore!!

Applications open for Genius Northwest – an IRL gaming competition

Last year, I participated in Genius Northwest, a gaming competition inspired by the Korean gameshow The Genius and its ilk.

It’s a reality show without the cameras — a 3-day, all-inclusive weekend retreat structured around a series of challenges and puzzles, in which personalities and dealmaking matter as much as playing games.

It’s truly a remarkable thing. I came in dead last in the competition, but I still had a great time participating.

The event is held annually in the Pacific Northwest (hence the name) and applications are now open to participate in the 2026 competition!
