CORNELION: Either this area has a BUNCH of one-eyed possums impaled on fenceposts, or we're going in circles.
CORNELION: Are we LOST?
[[The driver, THADDSWORTH, responds as a farmer with a hay cart appears nearby.]]
THADDSWORTH: I don't UNDERSTAND it! I ate a BRAND NEW road map before we left!
THADDSWORTH: THIS guy looks like a local. HEY! GRANDPA! Which way to New Jersey?
FARMER: I'm WALKIN' here, ya dumb kids! Can't you look where you're GOING? Get outta here!
CORNELION: I guess we're here, then.
THADDSWORTH: A lesser man would have just pointed.
[[They pass a signpost reading "NEWARK".]]

in the land of the lost, the one-eyed possum is king
The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.
It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.
I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
