ED: Are you sure it’s a good idea to let Ted host Thanksgiving dinner?
ED: What with his crippling addiction to hallucinogens?
MAURICE: We’re his sponsors. It’s the least we can do. It’s all part of rehab.

TED: Thanks for coming, guys! We can eat pretty soon if you’ll help me catch the turkey.
MAURICE: CATCH? Ted, it’s two P.M., and you don’t have a turkey yet?
TED: Oh, no, I have one! It’s just…at some point this morning, he turned into a dinosaur, and then he started taunting me. I can’t catch him. He seems to be able to teleport.

MAURICE: Oh, Ted. And detox was going so well!
TED: LOOK OUT

Applications open for Genius Northwest – an IRL gaming competition

Last year, I participated in Genius Northwest, a gaming competition inspired by the Korean gameshow The Genius and its ilk.

It’s a reality show without the cameras — a 3-day, all-inclusive weekend retreat structured around a series of challenges and puzzles, in which personalities and dealmaking matter as much as playing games.

It’s truly a remarkable thing. I came in dead last in the competition, but I still had a great time participating.

The event is held annually in the Pacific Northwest (hence the name) and applications are now open to participate in the 2026 competition!
