DAVEY: How was the pasta? Good?
MARCO: Yeah, it was super filling.

DAVEY: Make a good lunch tomorrow though, huh?
MARCO: I dunno. I don’t think I want to carry it home.

DAVEY: Mmm

DAVEY: Hey, do you ever have weird ideas about how to better society? I had one. What if, at meals, everybody got into the habit of putting their plates into the center of the table once they were finished? So other people could work on the leftovers if they wanted, without it being awkward. That way, food wouldn’t have to go to waste

20 years ago (in photocomic form)

A young David Malki !, Steve Carey, and Ryan North, June 2006.

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.

It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.

I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
