Rascal 1: Yeah, dude, I have no idea where that Taco Bell is.
Rascal 2: Heads up, someone’s coming-

[[A proper lady walks by]]

Rascal 1: …as soon as he fell over I rushed to his side but it was too late…
My Judo Strike had paralyzed him instantly. He was limp, his blood hot on my hands.

Rascal 1: I thought I saw one last goodbye trembling in his icicle eyes…
And then he was gone.
I am not ashamed to say that I cried that day.
I cried a buttload.

[[The lady has now walked by and is gone]]

Rascal 2: She was totally into you

20 years ago (in photocomic form)

A young David Malki !, Steve Carey, and Ryan North, June 2006.

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.

It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.

I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
