[[A middle-aged individual admires the nighttime view at dusk.]]
Watcher: Honey, look at the moon!
Watcher: Come look! It’s so big and bright and low! It’s LOVELY!

Watcher: What does it mean if the moon is so big? Is it going to be hot weather or something?
Watcher: It’s SO pretty… should we take a picture?

[[The honey in question appears.]]
Watcher: It’s very romantic!
Honey: That’s a streetlight. Put your glasses on.

Watcher: It can still be romantic or possibly signify hot weather
Honey: I’m just going to ignore the parts of that that don’t make any sense, like I do every day with everything

A Streetlight Named Desire, Descending On A Hot Tin Roof

20 years ago (in photocomic form)

A young David Malki !, Steve Carey, and Ryan North, June 2006.

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.

It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.

I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
