Comic Transcripts

– Hidden away in this isolated barn, you must submit to my every whim!

– I shall bring you a typewriter. Tomorrow you shall –
– Who’s there? Is somebody back there? I swear I can hear something. Hello?

– It sounded kinda human… But that’s crazy!
– Let me fetch my Hacksaw of Doom, and then we’ll see who’s crazy!

– Man, finally some peace and quiet. I thought that nag would never leave. If I could feel my legs, this would be perfect.

a brief respite from misery

20 years ago (in photocomic form)

A young David Malki !, Steve Carey, and Ryan North, June 2006.

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.

It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.

I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
