Woman: So! When are you and Amanda gonna give me some grandkids?
Man: I’d love to! Just tell me how!

Woman: What do you mean, “how”?
Man: I mean how! Nobody ever told me what you DO to get grandkids! Do I fill out a form? Stand in a line? Visit some kind of farm? What?

Woman: You’re teasing! Ask Amanda. SHE’LL help you figure it out.
Man: She’s as confused as I am! Listen, I want to help you out! But I don’t know what to do. How does it HAPPEN? How do we MAKE the grandkids? You’re gonna have to give us real clear step by step instructions.

Young woman: She still annoying you about grandkids?
Man: I’d characterize it as a stalemate.

20 years ago (in photocomic form)

A young David Malki !, Steve Carey, and Ryan North, June 2006.

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.

It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.

I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
