Comic Transcripts

[[PERCY and his mother. MOTHER is sewing.]]
PERCY: Why do all modern pictures of Santa’s sleigh have RUDOLPH at the front?
Rudolph’s a NON-CANON reindeer!

RUDOLPH: The “Rudolph” song is basically FAN-FICTION!
I GET that a red nose makes for a good TOY…but you can’t just make willy-nilly ADDITIONS to Santa’s OFFICIAL ROSTER!

MOTHER: The “official roster” was ITSELF just MADE UP by the author of “A Night Before Christmas.”
PERCY: Really?
MOTHER: Really. Clement Moore invented the whole brood.

PERCY: Oh.
I thought they were in the BIBLE!

20 years ago (in photocomic form)

A young David Malki !, Steve Carey, and Ryan North, June 2006.

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.

It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.

I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
