Worrier: Do you ever feel like we’re getting close to a breaking point?
Worrier: Societally?
Worrier: I lie awake some nights worried ab out our entire SYSTEM collapsing. Whether I’ll be able to SURVIVE afterward.

Pragmatist: I figure, any economic collapse on a society-destroying scale would be AS RUINOUS or MORE to the giant corporations that control everything as it would be to US…
Pragmatist: The 1% has both a VESTED INTEREST in social stability – because their imaginary hedge fund wealth VANISHES in a MAD MAX type situation –

Pragmatist: – and conveniently, they’re the only ones that have any power to actually DO anything about it.
Pragmatist: So I just trust that Warren Buffett and Jeff Bezos and the Koch brothers won’t ALLOW society to collapse.

20 years ago (in photocomic form)

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.

It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.

I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
