Ethel: Oh, no! ...Which one was great-aunt Susan?
Sam: The one with the ringworm farm.
Ethel: Oh. Great-aunt SUSAN. Well, your mom will want to see you at the funeral.
Sam: It's next Saturday.
Ethel: Isn't that the purple spooks concert?
Sam: Yes. Yes it is.
Ethel: The one you skipped work to stand in line for tickets for?
Sam: YES THANK YOU
[[They sit for a panel in silence.]]
Ethel: The difficult choice is usually the right choice.
Sam: You're right! I should STEAL the body and take it to the concert WITH me! After all, THAT would be TREMENDOUSLY difficult.

The computers tell me it was 20 years ago, June 9, 2006, that I arrived in New York for my first-ever comic convention as an exhibitor, MoCCA.
It was an important trip for me, a milestone in what would go on to become my career.
I wrote a little reminiscence on Patreon (free/unlocked) — including a first-since-then reprint of the photocomics I made at the time, documenting the trip!
