[[A seaside scene. GAX and GORMBERT are drinking milkshakes.]] GAX: I love milkshakes! GORMBERT: Yours are probably gross though, huh? GAX: Depends on what you consider gross. GORMBERT (narrowing eyes): Anything YOU like, I'm gonna think is gross. [[Gax leans over and sucks Gormbert's brain out with a straw. It's very disgusting]] (SFX: schlupppp) GAX: I can't believe you'd think your OWN brain is GROSS {{header: delicious, nutritious WONDERMARK.COM}}
To standardize everything, please use these conventions:
  • Start with a very basic scene description. Feel free to add descriptions/stage directions if they are relevant to the story.
  • No need to mark each panel (Panel 1, Panel 2, etc). Simply add stage directions if something changes from panel to panel.
  • Place stage directions (visual descriptions of action, setting, or expression within a panel) in [[double brackets]].
  • If a character's name is unknown (not revealed in the dialogue), feel free to make up a name for them. I prefer weird names like Plabecca, Grimothy, Zemjamin, etc. But this is up to you!
  • When introducing a character in the stage direction, use ALL CAPS for the first time their name is mentioned.
  • Use CHARACTER NAME: to start each line of dialogue. Format dialogue in normal sentence case (not all caps). When the dialogue is bolded, use ALL CAPS for those words.
  • You can break up each word balloon onto its own line, or combine a series of balloons by the same character into a single block.
  • Always add a blank line break and restate the character name if you are moving on to the next panel.
  • Use CAPTION: for caption boxes or narration text. Use (SFX: sound) for sound effects. There are lots of weird exceptions and edge cases; just describe it logically.
  • At the end, add the text from the top right header in {{curly braces}}, prefixed by header:
  • The alt-text is already indexed (no need to add it to the transcript).
