Woman; Missed you at book club today, Gax! Are you okay?
Gax; I will EXPIRE you.
Woman; What’s that?
Gax; Get OUT of here. I’mma CONCLUDE YOU AND Maureen AND the entire book club TEETHWISE.

Woman; Aw, Someone’s a bit grumpy-wumpy! What is it, bud? Anything I can help you with?
Gax; Why are you not AFRAID of me! I can LITERALLY EAT you people! and I HAVE! Why is NOBODY AFRAID of me?!

Woman; It’s okay. You’re in a lonely mood right now. You just call me later, okay? Drink some water. You’ll feel better.
[[Woman turns to walk away. Dog is present looking at Gax]]
Gax; WATER GIVES GAXIANS GAS!
Woman; Ammonia, then.

[[Woman exits. Gax pouts silently.]]
Dog; Yipe Yipe!

[[Gax unfolds his arms, gets thick in the neck and face while pointing at Dog]]
Gax; WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!

[[Gax gets thicker in the neck with a bigger face, yelling louder]]
Gax; YOU ARE MAKING MY ANGER FEEL FOOLISH!!
[[Dog jumps up]]
Dog; Yipe!

Applications open for Genius Northwest – an IRL gaming competition

Last year, I participated in Genius Northwest, a gaming competition inspired by the Korean gameshow The Genius and its ilk.

It’s a reality show without the cameras — a 3-day, all-inclusive weekend retreat structured around a series of challenges and puzzles, in which personalities and dealmaking matter as much as playing games.

It’s truly a remarkable thing. I came in dead last in the competition, but I still had a great time participating.

The event is held annually in the Pacific Northwest (hence the name) and applications are now open to participate in the 2026 competition!
