Dear Gax

That 2 year old example is how I once was when I was a child. The 'super timeout' seemed to be what always fixed stubbornness for me.

Dear Gax,

I am 22 years old and feeling a bit like a late bloomer. All my friends from high school have gotten married, had babies, earned impressive degrees, become international experts in their fields, and are very successful. All the while, I still have yet to decide what it is I want to do. There's just nothing I have a passion for. I keep trying new things and nothing really clicks as my talent. It feels like my entire peer group is leaving me behind and living real life while I'm still just trying to survive each day. Life is sufficient, but less than satisfying, to say the least. How can I determine what I'm good at, discover what I love, and start living life?

Dear Gax,

I wanted to thank you for your wise advice regarding my problem. Although I was unable to find enough spiders to fill a box, the local pet store was kind enough to sell me their selection of tarantulas. Although this only amounted to eight arachnids, their size meant that was more than sufficient to send the two-year-old into paroxysms of terror when I put him in the box. That's the last time he'll try to put used kitty litter into my shoes!

With gratitude,

Dearest Gax, Two friends are getting married and I have become an ordained minister so I can perform the ceremony for them. Both are pretty well agnostic, so I've got a very neutral ceremony to write. Any advice?

Dear Gax,
In my effort to find a job for the summer, I sent resumes to several retailers offering minimum-wage jobs. So far, the only jobs I have been hired for are fixing my dad's computer when it breaks and walking my neighbor's dog. The problem is, both of these jobs pay significantly better than what the retailers were offering. How can I get motivated to get a real job, when real jobs don't pay nearly as well?

Dear Gax: I've had horrible luck in romance, many potential suitors have inexplicably become encumbered with children or have changed their sexual orientation before I work up the nerve to ask them to coffee. What do you suggest I do to work up some courage?

Dear Gax, I have trouble sleeping at night. Try as I might, my mattress seems entirely incapable of rendering any sort of comfort. Yet, I am stuck with the blasted thing: I cannot afford another mattress. What do you suggest I do to help myself sleep at night?

Dear Gax: Please know that, as I consider re-entering academe, the entire supervirus angle will not go unconsidered... due in no small part to your counsel to Aggravated. Blame and credit will both redound to you. My life doesn't have handholds either, but petty ambitions can at least entertain onlookers. Cheerio (unless that expression sounds unpleasant to a Gaxian sono-ceptor).

Last one actually made a sort of inspired sense. I guess we can all learn something from the Gaxians.
